The approach

A classic kitchen that suits a Victorian house

A Victorian terrace suits a kitchen with classic lines. Ivory shaker units run along both sides of the room, topped with solid oak worktops that bring warmth to a calm, pale scheme. A Belfast sink sits under the original sash window, with a brass bridge tap and antique brass handles.

The room runs through to French doors onto the garden, so the layout keeps the centre clear. A floating oak shelf with black wall lights replaces wall cupboards on one side, and a tall bank of units handles the fridge and larder storage.

Natural materials

Solid oak worktops and a ceramic Belfast sink that age well with everyday use.

Brass details

A bridge tap, cup handles and a swan neck lamp in warm brass tie the scheme together.

Light from both ends

A sash window over the sink and French doors to the garden, with a clear walkway between.

Scope of works

Everything handled by one team

No separate plumber, electrician and tiler to coordinate. We managed every trade and every stage of this kitchen, in the right order.

  • Protection & strip out

Floors and access routes protected. The old kitchen removed and waste cleared from site.

  • First fix plumbing & gas

Water, waste and gas positions moved to suit the new layout. Gas work by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

  • First fix electrics

Dedicated circuits for the oven and hob, plus lighting and socket positions to the agreed plan.

  • Walls, floor & preparation

Plastering, making good and floor preparation, so units sit level and worktops run true.

  • Installation

Cabinetry fitted and levelled, worktops templated and installed, appliances integrated.

  • Second fix & handover

Sink, taps, lighting and finishing fitted, then snagged together before handover.

How we manage a kitchen renovation

Clear from the first visit to the final check

The part homeowners worry about most is not the doors or the worktop. It is living without a kitchen, the coordination between trades and whether the job finishes as agreed. This is how we run it.

  1. Site visit

We measure the room, check services and access, and talk through how you cook, eat and live in the space.

  2. Written proposal

A clear, itemised quotation. What is included, what is not, and who supplies units, worktops and appliances.

  3. Planning & ordering

Layout confirmed and lead times planned, so units, worktops and appliances arrive when the build needs them.

  4. The build

Protection, strip out, first fix, preparation, installation and second fix, carried out in sequence by our own team.

  5. Updates you can follow

One point of contact throughout. You know what is happening this week and when we need a decision from you.

  6. Snagging & handover

We walk the finished kitchen with you and resolve any points before we sign it off.

FAQs

Kitchen renovation in Hanwell and Ealing: your questions answered

Can’t see your question? Call 020 3576 7307 or message us on WhatsApp.

How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Ealing?

It depends on the size of the room, whether the layout changes, the condition of the walls, floor and services, and the units, worktops and appliances you choose.

After a site visit we give you an itemised written quotation, so you can see where the budget goes before anything is agreed.

Are solid oak worktops practical?

Yes, with a little care. Oak is warm, durable and can be sanded and oiled again if it marks, which stone and laminate cannot. We oil worktops properly before handover and explain how to look after them.

Do you renovate kitchens in Victorian and period houses?

Yes. Much of our work is in period terraces. We check the walls, floors and old services before we price, and design the kitchen so it suits the character of the house.

Do you manage everything, or do I need separate trades?

We manage the whole kitchen: protection, strip out, plumbing, gas, electrics, plastering, flooring, installation and decoration. You deal with one team and one point of contact, not a kitchen fitter, an electrician and a plasterer working to different schedules.

Can you fit a kitchen I have already chosen?

Yes. We can install a kitchen from your chosen supplier, or source units, worktops and appliances within the agreed scope. Who supplies what is set out in the written proposal before work begins, and we coordinate deliveries and worktop templating with the supplier.

How long does a kitchen renovation take?

It depends on the scope, any layout or structural changes, and lead times on units and worktops. Worktops are usually templated once the units are fitted, so we plan that step into the programme. We confirm a realistic timeline after the site visit.

Can we live at home while the kitchen is being renovated?

Usually, yes. We protect the rest of the home, control dust and keep you informed about the days when water, power or access will be affected, so you can plan around them.

Do you cover Hanwell, Ealing and West London?

Yes. We are based in West Hampstead and complete kitchen renovations across London, including Hanwell, Ealing, Chiswick and Acton. Send us your postcode to confirm.
