Pointing and Façade Restoration
The front of a building is the first thing tenants, customers and buyers see. It is also the main thing keeping the weather out.
We restore the façades of commercial and multi occupancy buildings across London for freeholders, managing agents, residents’ associations, landlords and business owners. Failed or cement pointing is raked out by hand and repointed in a mortar that suits the building, usually lime on Victorian and Georgian brickwork.
Damaged bricks are cut out and replaced with matching ones, cracked stonework, cornices and sills are repaired, and dirt and old paint are cleaned off gently so the original brick shows again.
Scaffolding, council licences, protection for shopfronts and pedestrians, and communication with residents and tenants are all planned before we start.
